The Cranks

Poor Little has had a rough week and a half. On top of the stomach flu, she came down with a cold and an ear infection. Her health is improving but she is not sleeping well at all. Right before she got sick, she had FINALLY started sleeping through the night. Not so much anymore. We are back to the constant waking and screaming until she starts throwing up. When your kid does that, you can’t let them cry it out – it is just too painful.

Our house is tired and cranky. Wonderful Husband works all day and is in school at night. The awful nights are impacting his school work and he is really behind. I feel bad for him but I am frustrated because that means he is around even less. This weekend he spent both days at the library. That means I am a single parent for eleven days straight. For the time Little wakes up, goes down for the night to when she wakes up screaming and decides to stay awake crying from 12am -3am - it is all about Mom. I am over the school thing. I want to be supportive but four years of this does NOT sound like something I can manage.

Oh no you didn't....

Again, with a parent carelessly exposing my kiddo to their sick child.

This week we attended a playgroup with a few other girls around Little’s age. About twenty minutes into the playgroup our host announces that her whole family has had the stomach flu but they were feeling better today. WHAT??!? By the time she shared this gem, Little had already stuck 20 toys in her mouth, drank out of another kids cup and stolen a pacifier.

Last night, at about 10pm, Little started throwing up every thirty minutes until 3am. Now we are on to dry heaving and nasty diapers.

Don’t even get me started.

We have a lot of new treasures in our house and not a lot of money left for the month.

I visit etsy at least once a day and am constantly finding things I can't live with out. I received a notice from our bank account that I must block the site from my computer for at least two weeks. What good is artwork if you no longer can pay for the house you wish to display it in?

Why can't I do this

It is so hard for me to keep this blog up. I want to be one of those cool bloggers who posts witty things almost every day but I can't seem to find the time or the wit.

Life is good - and busy. I am working two jobs from home while keeping my fulltime job of caring for Little. She is now 13 months. She gets older everyday and it kills me. It is such a delight to watch her learn, grow and become her own person but it also breaks my heart. Tonight she learned to climb down the stairs. She makes a big circle at the top of the stairs and slowly inches her feet down. She is very careful and methodical. For eighteen stairs she moves down right foot, left hand, left foot, right hand with her little bum sticking up the entire way. I remember when she was first born and would sleep all night, a ball on my chest. Now she is a toddler - long and lean, determined and stubborn, adorable and smart, independent and frustrating. Next thing I know, she will be a teenager.
